I can remember back to yesteryear, prior to Wordpress, when I had to code my entire website by hand. Now a days, blogging platforms like Word Press and Blogger do the majority of the coding for you. You still need to know the basics of coding in case you accidentally make a mistake on your site or if you want to customize your website or blog. This books is a good tool for "those" people to have in their library.I've always loved the "Dummies" books. They are simple to understand and easy to navigate. And in true Dummies fashion, they have online resources listed in the back of the book. And, for those who want Dummies on the Go, there's an app for that.

I purchased this for my 11yr old daughter who is into computer technology and always wants to know more about computers. She kinda grumbled when she received it, but I am already seeing results that she is reading and understanding it. I believe this is a great book if you want to know the ins and outs of computer programming.

I have been readingg this book, but as with anything, you have to practice, practice, practice - and that demanads time I do not have to devote to it. It is easy reading though and I have been enjoying that.

Excellent resource for computer class. Impact of iPhone Uber and Airbnb. Html5,javascript and Python. Authentic info from a good software developer.

If you are interested in learning how to code for the web, but don't have much experience or knowledge, get this book first! It is an outstanding overview of all the latest information on creating content for the web experience.The book is clearly designed for those who know all the words but don't necessarily understand them. If you have worked in HTML in the past but need a refresher course on the latest coding languages, it is here. This modestly sized volume (only about 260 pages) covers everything you need to know to get up to speed with HTML 5, CSS, Javascript, Python and Ruby. These days, clients and employers (and users, whether they know it or not) are interested in responsive design and app creation, both are here with sections on Bootstrap and app creation. These days you want to make sure you are designing for the phone or tablet, that is all here.The book is lavishly illustrated (in color!) and demos are clear and easy to follow. There is also an outstanding section of resources and great advice on how to move forward in coding. I have done some computer coding and have used many resources to get better at it, but this was the best book I have used yet for giving me a big picture sense of the whole business.This is not a "college course in a book." No section is in depth enough to make you an expert on the subject, although for beginners the HTML and the CSS sections are very thorough, but there is enough here to get you pointed in the right direction.

I'm a Human Resource major. This is a a great introducterory level book. Of course if your class requires this book then you won't care about how the book compliments the class.What you want to know is the condition.Overall it was in good condition. All of the pages were there and the book was structurally sound. The only gripe I have is that people wrote in this book quite a bit. Some of it didn't make any sense. It progressively became worse throughout the semester. Its not to bad where I couldn't read the book, but it was a little bit distracting sometimes.

I had to purchase this book for a business law class that I took, I am glad that I have kept onto this book because there have been some times when I really needed to look up some information about the legal processes involved in daily business operations. I was able to look back and refer to this book to answer some questions that I had, as well as going into detail and explaining the different legal business aspects that every business needs to learn how to deal with.

This textbook is a lot easier to read and understand than I expected. When I found out I had to take business law I was kind of annoyed but it was my easiest book to read this semester! The examples are real world examples and you can even research the cases and get more information (I know I needed to for my assisgnments). I've definitely recommended this book for other friends who are taking this class with other professors and struggling. It's so much easier for them to understand!

Wish I could afford the new addition. This book is really good, easy to read and comprehend. That's important with business law because of how many things there are to understand and memorize.

Its hard to love a text book, but this is well written and useful. Lots of information. The Kindle edition works great, except I wish they would improve the highlight capability to add more colors, and do it quickly. Also, my Kindle Pc app has a default setting which is to not remember where I was in the book when the app was last closed.

If you're buying this, it's kind of a "required" purchase. But as far as school books go. I have to say this one is organized well and easy to read and understand. The sidebar questions are relevant too. Other than that, it's a college book.

This book is full of fun cocktails. It also has recipes for bar snacks. This book is full of great bar tips such as, the different type of glasses used for the type of drinks. It also has fun facts such as, how happy hour came about. It's the only book that I will need to make great cocktails.

What a beautiful book. It has so much great info--history, recipes, lovely enticing photos, and even a quiz so you can find your perfect cocktail. This book is well made. It makes a great gift. There is so much information--when I read it, I feel like I'm at the beach ready for a cocktail.

I got this as a Father's Day gift because my dad loves all kinds of tropical drinks and when we have family or friends over, he likes to make new things (plus my parents have an abundance of liquor from a party that they're trying to get rid of). It had a recipe for his favorite drink and I hadn't even looked inside. Turned out to be perfect for him!

This fun and clever picture book is just as entertaining for adults as for the kids! My son and I enjoyed scouring the words and illustrations for all of the great math puns. It's a fun way to introduce math concepts or to review with older kids. They'll enjoy spotting them throughout the book.The mystery kept us flipping pages.The Private "I" reminded me of Detective Joe Friday :-) . Fun picture book!

I just love Tar Lazar's humorous view of the world! Her fabulous sense of humor is evident in all her books. She is a wonderful author and knows exactly how to relate to kids. A laugh out loud book with all the puns and math humor. I couldn't stop giggling. It most definitely brings out the kid in you. A must for every bookshelf and library collection. This book should be in every dentist and doctor's office so kids can chuckle and forget about their visit. Love it!!

I really like this book. It is for probably third grade or older, but the use of idioms and puns is great. If reading it to younger children, the reader would need to point out some of the less obvious puns, but the illustrations help. I have shared it with adults and we have laughed together.

To both a numbers obsessed grandson and a word obsessed Nana and teacher, this book is the best! My five year old grandson loves 7 Ate 9, and I have shared it with a group of older kids also. This book is hysterical! I bought it mostly because I am tired of the more straightforward and predictable book formats. complete with puns and lots of thought provoking lines...I know my kindergartner will enjoy this for many years.

I bought this book for my 5 year old nephew for Christmas. The story is very engaging with delightful wordplay, and the illustrations are fun and add to the story. This isn't a book to drill numbers, but it increases familiarity with numerical images and concepts. I highly recommend it.

Nice cover and nice paper and good font. That deserves two stars. However, almost all of the reviews are misleading if you think they are talking about this book. Amazon is applying reviews in batch to the story, not to any particular edition. Beware. This edition, with this cover and with "The Discovery of the Great" at the top, is bogus. The closest you come to identifying the publisher is in the back: "Made in the USA San Bernardino, CA 26 February 2018". It will be printed just for you, most likely from text that was originally on standard 8 1/2" by 11". When sent to the printer and printed on 6" x 9" paper stock, most all the lines wrap so you get some short lines and some long - a complete mess! This printer did not even bother to define the right paper size. Also did not bother to print page numbers or anything beyond the Mark Twain text.

Alot of the complaints in the reviews about this book are that "It is too slow", and "It is too difficult to read." Guess what! This is not The Hunger Games or The Twilight Series. This is actual literature from over 100 years ago. Yes it takes work to get through the dialogue. It is not exactly a page turner in that regard. But if you can be patient, and "get into the groove' of the dialect, then you will soon be able to read through the conversation with less effort. It is rewarding! Of course, I am reading this as an adult, and because I chose to do so, and not for a homework assignment. I am glad I took the time to do so, because this to me is what literature is all about. It's rewarding - not just a book you cruise through in two days, and then give it to your 10 year old who also reads it in two days. There is a lot of social commentary, as well as commentary about the inherent decency of man, and what we do to screw up our kids along the way. Critics are correct, this is not a children's book. It just happens to be about a child. Mark Twain was a masterful writer. I hope you take the time to work through this book. Also, the Dover Thrift version does not appear to be censored - as some of the other books are purported to be.

We bought this book for my childâ€™s 7th grade summer reading. For this, annotation is required including underlining. The printing on this book is so so small that I literally gasped when I opened the book. This book should be 3-4 times as thick but theyâ€™ve condensed the font size so much to save pages that it is useless to a student. I have 20/20 vision and would struggle. I want my money back but am not going to bother sending it back because it would cost me as much postage as I paid for the â€œbook.â€ The text size is what Iâ€™m guessing to be 5 pt font. Itâ€™s shocking!!!! We are headed to Barnes and Noble to get something we can actually use for school.

I wanted to re-read this due to the discussions of removing it from school libraries and required reading lists related the use of a certain word. I read this in the fifth grade, and at that time, it was simply a great adventure of two boys . Now, over 50+ years later I see it in an entirely different light. It is not just an adventure of two boys... but also a social and political commentary on slavery. Now I truly appreciate the significance and genius of Mark Twain. I have the first edition of this book, and as a modeler and historian, I have to say that this is the best book on this subject for people of ANY age! There are many books on the history of warfare, but only this one emphasizes U.S. participation.

This book provides a comprehensive account of the United States Military from the birth of the country up to the present time.The text is easy to read, not like a 'stuffy' textbook, and it is well illustrated with photographs, maps and diagrams.Although intended as a school study book it provides a useful and informative reference book for anyone interested in the United States, and in particular their armed forces.

My son enjoys history and this book is one of his favorites.

Some of the odd English phrasing seems to be straight out of Google Translate. (The following excerpt is from a review of an ice cream chain: "In all initiatives, Freddo acts on three fronts: Craftsmanship, Argentina and Dulce de Leche (the number of flavors based on this icon of Argentine cuisine, seven beyond the traditional, doesn't deny the origin of the brand).") Portions of the various sections are clearly lifted straight from other sources (the section on Tigre, which suggests "enjoy leisure time to explore the port on your own and have lunch at a local eatery (own expense)" obviously came straight out of a tour itinerary), including marketing materials for the establishment in question (see the blurb on the vegetarian restaurant). All in all, not worth your time or money.

Buenos Aires is a beautiful city with rustic glamour. I love to see it when I visit Argentina soon. Reading a book such as this excites me because I do not want to go where the tourist go. I want to be in the city and live like a local even for a week or for a month. That way, I can see the city and the sorrounding towns in a different way. Not a touristy thing to do and this book made me see that it is doable.

We planned to spend three days in Buenos Aries -- plans changed and will now be there only 30 hours before leaving on a cruise.This was a good summary of things to do -- very few "secrets" -- all were covered in my copy of Top 10 Buenos Aires (Eyewitness Top 10 Travel Guide), which I just purchased.Personally, I would go with Eyewitness - we really like the photographs and the substance is broader.Robert C. I think that Pippa Grant is trying to make me look like a liar. I keep stating how much I don't really enjoy romantic comedies but each time I read one of hers I have to make an exception, and each time the books get better and better.Â I really thought that nothing could top my love for Knox Moretti, I mean he's a sexy romance blogger, what can be better than that?Â Zeus Berger. That's what.Â It's ironic that my initial reaction to him in the other books and upon finding out that he would get his own story was, "How could Pippa Grant possibly make me fall in love with this larger-than-life oaf who has an ego to match and probably half the IQ?" because this is exactly the reaction that Zeus is used to getting and the one thing he longs for someone to look beyond.Â I never expected discover the softer, smarter side of him and I definitely didn't expect to be swooning so hard over him. Of course, what could bring out the softer side of a big old brute like him better than a tough-as-nails, take no bs, successful woman?Enter Joey "Fireball" Diamonte.Â Â I don't think I've ever met such a ballsy, badass heroine as Joey. Sure, she comes across as cold and stubborn and extremely stand-offish but this is precisely why her and Zeus are perfect for each other.Â They are the only two strong-willed, confident (some might say cocky) people who could possibly have the patience and will to push past each other's barriers.Â And boy did they make it an interesting journey!!There are a lot of books that make me smile, and even make me giggle but this one made me literally laugh out loud.Â #gleek #spiders I don't love romcoms that are overtly raunchy or crass simply for the sake of trying to be funny but when those things are true to who a character is and that character is well-developed beyond those characteristics, it makes all the difference. That kind of thing gets old really quick when it seems to be the only dimension to a character and their story. This is not the case with Pippa Grant's books. If you feel overwhelmed or annoyed by some of the behaviors of her characters in the beginning of the story, stick it out, I swear you won't be disappointed.Â Outside of all the laughs this books provides, you'll also feel. This story has heart and it's kind of embedded itself in mine.Â

Joey â€œFireballâ€ Diamonte is a woman that doesn't take crap from anyone and especially from men. She's didn't get where she is today by being some damsel in distress needing a knight in shinning armor to come rescue her. And the last thing she needs is this hulking tall drink of water.Zeus Berger is a brute on and off the ice and no woman has ever made him think about love, fairy tales, and all that jazz. The only thing that scares him are spiders and maybe his sister. But he's about to meet his match in the form of one feisty pilot.Their attraction seems unlikely but there's a pull there that neither can deny. The more the fire grows between, the less this relationship stars to feel like it's just a fling.Can they really makes this a lasting relationship or will they crash and burn faster then a jet going Mach 10?The Pilot & the Puck-Up is a fun, witty, saucy read that will have the reader laughing out loud while making knees weak and hearts swoon.Joey is definitely a fireball you can't help but fall in love with. I love all her sassy comebacks, giving as good or better as she gets. I adore her willingness to give love and Zeus a try even though she's scared.Zeus is everything you think a big, brute of a hockey player could be, but there is more than meets the eye. He's got a heart of gold and really nothing more than huge teddy bear. He's the guy that will always be there for his family and friends no matter what.The passion between Joey and Zeus ignites right from the start and only intensifies as the story progresses. I love how they both open up to each other while building a strong, long lasting relationship. Zeus may have a few false starts in the beginning, but he's not a man to walk away from a challenge and Joey is a challenge he wants to win.I love, love, love Joey and Zeus. They are fun, sexy, and completely adorable. Their journey is so entertaining from cover to cover that you won't want to put it down. Zeus will make is way under your skin and into your heart before you even know what's happening.I highly suggest that you run and pick up The Pilot & the Puck-Up and find out why readers are falling head over heals for Zeus and Joey. There may be a few bumps in the road, but Zeus will score a goal and win the game in the end.

The Berger twins and the whole gang are my favorite people ever! I know they aren't technically "real" but you will understand completely when you read Pippa's amazing books. Joey and Zeus are made for each other! Do not read this while eating or drinking, and so not read this In the breakroom at work! all my coworkers think I have lost my mind when reading anything Pippa writes!! This book deserves way way more than 5 stars!!!

Zeus and Joey are a match made in a vomit comet. Poor Zeus, deep down, all he wants â€”- well, Iâ€™m not spilling his deepest secret, because I donâ€™t want the behometh hockey player coming after me (because heâ€™s that real, people)! ;-)Joeyâ€™s a tough nut. A hard-nosed pilot whoâ€™s climbed high and low and high again flying jets in her getting-off-the-ground vomit comet business, men donâ€™t interest her. Much. One thing you have to say about Zeus is he makes a distinctive entrance into her life. Joeyâ€™s there to drum up investors in her business. Zeus is there...because.Things get crazy after that, including a ride on a gravity flight, the aforementioned vomit comet, and we meet a little girl whoâ€™s got possibly more moxie than either Joey or Zeus who frankly deserves a book or her own - or her single mother does. (Hear that, Pippa Grant? I want the kidsâ€™ mom to have a HEA too, because they deserve one!)The romance is hilarious and top-notch, with all the craziness in a PG (thatâ€™s Pippa Grant, and itâ€™s NOT PG rated) book. So, get it, sit back, and be prepared to giggle your way through Zeusâ€™ growing self-awareness and Joeyâ€™s crash landing into giant Zeus. Hey, any landing is a good one, even a crash one. And I think Joey would agree. And Zeus.
