I bought the kindle edition because it saved me 30 dollars. The kindle application for my computer was super easy to load and is also really easy to use.However, this textbook electronically is al little frustrating. There are no page numbers and the picture (and therefore sometime lengthy descriptions) sometimes interupt your sentence of text for a few "pages" before starting up again. There is no way I can find to view by page and therefore have the picture and captions in the proper place (out of the way) or keep track of how many pages I have read.

A Christmas gift for our granddaughter and she loves it.

Great for beginners. The perfect introduction for our career.

A very interesting textbook. It also describes all the science you need to know to understand the different aspects of Biomedical Engineering. I think I will keep this book after the class, it was very informative for such a petite thing. this finds a way to take a very difficult topic and describe it to sophomores in a way that makes us interested.

So, I have a fairly good background in higher Math, including a year of Calculus. I have been researching good math books for young people who are having problems are would benefit from a decent intro to the various upper level subjects before they become buried in equations. Concerning the Manga Guide, I find that a reader would greatly benefit from already having had at least a fair intro. to the Calculus in order to avoid becoming quickly swamped in otherwise meaningless equations. I found this book was created with good intentions but is rather muddled and skips a good deal of explanatory material. Difficult to follow if you are unable to fill in the gaps (again, requiring a background in the subject). I know Japanese and actually enjoy Manga but this simply isn't the answer to a potential student but more like a review (and not even a good review) of the subject. The book is not all together useless but I just don't think it accomplishes its objective. I tell you what: the best book of its kind is _Calculus Made Easy_, originally authored by Silvanus Thompson and edited by Martin Gardner. The book is over 250 pages but offers what I consider the best, most concise, detailed intro. to the Calculus I have been able discover. It offers a logical, step-for-step instruction accompanied by plenty of easy but instructive exercises. Anyhoo , that's my advice.

Textbook writing is not something that the above average mathematician is readily capable of from trying to discern the meaning of some of the instructions in some of my text books. Having a source that approaches instruction from a different direction can provide a hint that may have been missing in a more specific text. That is where "The Manga Guide to Calculus" can be helpful. Utilizing the visual language of the comic/manga style, it is easier to visualize some very complex mathematical principles that we usually only envision in the abstract. Definitely a must for the struggling Calculus student.

Math teacher, here. I have never seen a kid pick up a math book "just because", but all of the kids that come to our house and see this book will pick it up and just start reading. It is written like a comic book, which makes learning fun. I still do not see them pick up a pencil to try the activities, but they at least start asking questions.

This book does a good job of explaining core concepts in an interesting and much more friendly way than most textbooks. It doesn't go into the details as deeply as a dry textbook might, but it does a very good job of explaining what the equations are actual doing, from a real world (manga?) perspective, something that most textbooks ignore completely.This book will likely help you if you are having conceptual hangups in your calculus class, but don't expect it to replace your text book, it simply doesn't provide that kind of bulk material.

I am a fan of manga so this is a good book and very interesting book.This book actually lead people to learn calculus a proper way, because I think if people just study things like calculus for tests, just memorize thing to pass the exams, what role does calculus exactly play in our lives.I recommended this book for all those who know how to read manga and want to know a little bit about calculus.HTH - Hope this Help :)

It is an excellent and enjoyable way of learning calculus for the first time or as a quick review.Explanations are very clear and the exercises - with solutions - are a good way to fix the concepts. May be there could be more exercices with solutions.

Got this book for my nerdy boyfriend, a college student currently taking calculus. He thought it was hilarious. He had seen the book before and really wanted it, so I got it for him as a birthday present. The book is wonderfully illustrated and very funny. He said it will help him a lot.

Purchased this book for a amime addicted teenager who is struggling in Calculus. We had tried other Calculus help books in the past, but she wasn't interested in them and they did not help. Since she is very interested in reading Manga (she chose the words anime addicted), this book captured her interest and helped to explain topics that were difficult for her to grasp. Though, both in a way fought it. But at the end none of theirs reasons mattered. Because they both recognised, that what they had was something special.HIS PROMISE is sweet second chance romance with no dramas. It was light and enjoyable. When I started I didn't noticed when I reached the end, I was so lost into the story.

Can't wait for Colton's story!!!His PromiseThis is the final book in the Happy Endings Collection & I have to say, I'm going to miss these short, sweet, and oh so hot story's. Colton is the last of the three Michaels brothers, and the most broken. When Langley, his legal assistant needs his help he steps up in a spectacular way. And before he knows it, he's opened his heart to not only Langley, but her two sweet kids. This is their story, and it's a sweet second chance love story that readers are sure to love!!!

The first two are very cute short stories. Seth and Grace have an instant connection, but propriety keeps them apart. The last is a quick little romance about a man who lost his wife and child to the irresponsibility of a drink driver and how he finds his own way back to love and life.This series is great. I love these stories. L Wilder has a talent with these quick little short stories where it doesn't leave you feeling like you missed half the story because the author is trying to keep it short.

A Psychiatrist, Jock and a Lawyer, these are the three hot sexy Micheals brothers. This box set contains the three stories of these brothers. The lawyer who's heart was broken when he lost his wife and child in an accident. The jock who hurt his leg now on the DL, the psychiatrist on a blind, not so blind date. Short, sweet, HEA stories that are still hot. I highly recommend this set, and this Awesome Author, one of my must read Authors.

As always I will read anything Leslie writes. The sweet stories in this box set were perfect. I enjoyed Seth and Grace, Tucker and Kaci and Colton and Langley. I think I enjoyed His Promise the most. I love how Colton was there for Langley when she needed him, and this second chance romance was the perfect quick enjoyable read for me. Thanks Leslie Wilder for your great stories.

So different than the MC books you write but oh so good. These books had a little bit if everything in them. Loved them all. I can't really choose between Seth, Tucker and Colton. And the woman were perfect for their men. Great job! Loved them

The Michael brothers are hot, successful and fun. The stories were not long, but it gave enough to keep you interested, all the characters were well written.

This is an important book that addresses the false dichotomy of evangelism versus cultural engagement. If evangelicals/fundamentalists tend to fault at focusing too much on evangelism at the neglect of cultural engagement, then liberal/progressive Christians tend to fault at focusing too much on cultural engagement at the neglect of evangelism. The author provides historical, biblical, and theological arguments for the case that the Great Commission encompasses both imperatives of evangelism and cultural engagement with equal measure. In the last section of the book, he makes a powerful argument that the Great Commission is actually the fulfillment of the cultural mandate from Genesis 1 thus weaving both imperatives as humanity’s central calling from the beginning of history to the consummation. If this is the case, then the applications are endless.For younger evangelicals who are passionate about evangelism but are also frustrated with the broader American evangelical community for their lack of empathy concerning the plight of immigrants, people of color, etc., then this book is for you. For more traditional evangelicals who have concerns that the pursuit of social justice, cultural renewal projects, etc. undermine the primacy of the Gospel and the Great Commission, may I encourage you not to brush me off and try reading the book first? The author himself comes from an evangelical and Presbyterian institution that has been described as the bastion of Old School Presbyterianism. He is very well-informed and addresses your concerns faithfully from Scripture.

I bought it for someone else

I once heard a sermon that contained a lot of good information about the text. At the end, though, the preacher basically said, "Let the Holy Spirit apply this to your hearts" and quit without making any application himself. It was kind of a disappointing experience.Reading Created and Creating gave me a similar feeling. While it contains a lot of good content and thought, the author was very reticent to draw his own conclusions or follow those conclusions toward practical application. Basically, all William Edgar leaves us with is his belief that there shouldn't be a dichotomy between the sacred and the secular in culture. This conclusion may be accurate but is quite limited. To be honest, it may be my fault that I didn't get this book; it was fairly academic and some of it may have gone over my head. Nevertheless, I think I would have benefited more if Edgar's theology of culture had been fleshed out a bit more and brought to the world where we live.This book is effective in its explanation of the historical views of culture held by Christian theologians over the years. I appreciated that section and learned from it. Overall, though, this book's conclusions are too limited to be very helpful for me.I received a digital copy of this book for free from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I express in this review are entirely my own.

This little book is extremely well written and informative. It covers important basic informative to help new collectors. There are numerous colored photos which illustrate a good cross section of buttons covering history and materials. It's a great book for any lover of buttons to add to their library and is very affordable.

This book has been such a help to me. I have always loved buttons since I was a child. Several years ago I started collecting buttons and selling them at an Antique mall. I cringe every time I think of the valuable buttons that I practically given away. It is so much fun now to go to my Buttons book and be able to research my new treasures. Naim Stifan Ateek is an Anglican priest and founder of the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center in Jerusalem. A former canon of St. George's Cathedral in Jerusalem, he was the first to articulate a Palestinian theology of liberation in his book, Justice, and Only Justice: A Palestinian Theology of Liberation (Orbis, 1989). He is also the author of A Palestinian Christian Cry for Reconciliation (Orbis 2008).

An added bonus is the descriptive chapter on organizations that are striving to bring lasting peace with security and equal rights for all the residents of the land.

Rev. Naim Ateek explains Palestinian liberation theology. Jesus was a Palestinian living under the oppression of the Romans. By using the hermeneutic of Jesus Christ, we are able to discern which sayings of the Old Testament represent an exclusive vengeful God and those that represent the loving God. We understand that criticisms of the exclusive God were made by later theological writers of the Old Testament. We can practice a healing, justice-making, and peaceful, inclusive, non-violent path to resolving the Palestine-Israel conflict that is not based in hate of the Other. We can realize a Jerusalem that belongs to God and is open to all, as spoken about in the words of Ezekiel and other prophetic writers in the Old Testament. Our God is the loving God of all humans. We are all human beings; we are all welcomed as the children of God through God’s love, and we are all in need of justice, peace, and reconciliation. We can work together in respect regardless of a difference in religions.

Helpful historical context to a complex issue which plagues us today. The book is certainly written from a Palestinian viewpoint but tries to maintain some balance.
