MY TEMPTATIONIf you read the old version "Indiscretion" just by Piper, you absolutely still need to read this new one. First, its collaboration with L Wilder. Which is one of my fav authors, btw. And, second, while first version by Piper was pretty good, but this new has a different twist, that I like more. It still has insta attraction between Seth and Grace. But instead of insta 'jump each other', like in previous version, it has a built up. I don't mind that insta jump, but in this case, built up was more fitting to the story in my opinion.This story is worth your time, no matter if you read previous version or not. It's quick, interesting, insta and sexy read.BRING THE HEATIt's a perfect story, when you are in a need of light with no dramas and with insta chemistry book.From the first moment they meet, Kaci and Tucker feel attraction. Though, both in a way fought it. But at the end none of theirs reasons mattered. Because they both recognised, that what they had was something special.HIS PROMISE is sweet second chance romance with no dramas. It was light and enjoyable. When I started I didn't noticed when I reached the end, I was so lost into the story.

I loved all these stories!!!My TemptationWhat a sweet, almost (but not quite and not in a bad way) taboo, quick little read from a favorite author. I loved it!!!Bring the Heat I absolutely loved this one!!! A quick little read with lots of sass and spark! The characters are down to earth and funny. Can't wait for Colton's story!!!His PromiseThis is the final book in the Happy Endings Collection & I have to say, I'm going to miss these short, sweet, and oh so hot story's. Colton is the last of the three Michaels brothers, and the most broken. When Langley, his legal assistant needs his help he steps up in a spectacular way. And before he knows it, he's opened his heart to not only Langley, but her two sweet kids. This is their story, and it's a sweet second chance love story that readers are sure to love!!!

The first two are very cute short stories. Seth and Grace have an instant connection, but propriety keeps them apart. The last is a quick little romance about a man who lost his wife and child to the irresponsibility of a drink driver and how he finds his own way back to love and life.This series is great. I love these stories. L Wilder has a talent with these quick little short stories where it doesn't leave you feeling like you missed half the story because the author is trying to keep it short.

A Psychiatrist, Jock and a Lawyer, these are the three hot sexy Micheals brothers. This box set contains the three stories of these brothers. The lawyer who's heart was broken when he lost his wife and child in an accident. The jock who hurt his leg now on the DL, the psychiatrist on a blind, not so blind date. Short, sweet, HEA stories that are still hot. I highly recommend this set, and this Awesome Author, one of my must read Authors.

As always I will read anything Leslie writes. The sweet stories in this box set were perfect. I enjoyed Seth and Grace, Tucker and Kaci and Colton and Langley. I think I enjoyed His Promise the most. I love how Colton was there for Langley when she needed him, and this second chance romance was the perfect quick enjoyable read for me. Thanks Leslie Wilder for your great stories.

So different than the MC books you write but oh so good. These books had a little bit if everything in them. Loved them all. I can't really choose between Seth, Tucker and Colton. And the woman were perfect for their men. Great job! Loved them

The Michael brothers are hot, successful and fun. The stories were not long, but it gave enough to keep you interested, all the characters were well written.

This is an important book that addresses the false dichotomy of evangelism versus cultural engagement. If evangelicals/fundamentalists tend to fault at focusing too much on evangelism at the neglect of cultural engagement, then liberal/progressive Christians tend to fault at focusing too much on cultural engagement at the neglect of evangelism. The author provides historical, biblical, and theological arguments for the case that the Great Commission encompasses both imperatives of evangelism and cultural engagement with equal measure. In the last section of the book, he makes a powerful argument that the Great Commission is actually the fulfillment of the cultural mandate from Genesis 1 thus weaving both imperatives as humanity’s central calling from the beginning of history to the consummation. If this is the case, then the applications are endless.For younger evangelicals who are passionate about evangelism but are also frustrated with the broader American evangelical community for their lack of empathy concerning the plight of immigrants, people of color, etc., then this book is for you. For more traditional evangelicals who have concerns that the pursuit of social justice, cultural renewal projects, etc. undermine the primacy of the Gospel and the Great Commission, may I encourage you not to brush me off and try reading the book first? The author himself comes from an evangelical and Presbyterian institution that has been described as the bastion of Old School Presbyterianism. He is very well-informed and addresses your concerns faithfully from Scripture.

I bought it for someone else

I once heard a sermon that contained a lot of good information about the text. At the end, though, the preacher basically said, "Let the Holy Spirit apply this to your hearts" and quit without making any application himself. It was kind of a disappointing experience.Reading Created and Creating gave me a similar feeling. While it contains a lot of good content and thought, the author was very reticent to draw his own conclusions or follow those conclusions toward practical application. Basically, all William Edgar leaves us with is his belief that there shouldn't be a dichotomy between the sacred and the secular in culture. This conclusion may be accurate but is quite limited. To be honest, it may be my fault that I didn't get this book; it was fairly academic and some of it may have gone over my head. Nevertheless, I think I would have benefited more if Edgar's theology of culture had been fleshed out a bit more and brought to the world where we live.This book is effective in its explanation of the historical views of culture held by Christian theologians over the years. I appreciated that section and learned from it. Overall, though, this book's conclusions are too limited to be very helpful for me.I received a digital copy of this book for free from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I express in this review are entirely my own.

This little book is extremely well written and informative. It covers important basic informative to help new collectors. There are numerous colored photos which illustrate a good cross section of buttons covering history and materials. It's a great book for any lover of buttons to add to their library and is very affordable.

About the Author

Naim Stifan Ateek is an Anglican priest and founder of the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center in Jerusalem. A former canon of St. George's Cathedral in Jerusalem, he was the first to articulate a Palestinian theology of liberation in his book, Justice, and Only Justice: A Palestinian Theology of Liberation (Orbis, 1989). He is also the author of A Palestinian Christian Cry for Reconciliation (Orbis 2008).

The book's principal focus, clearly demonstrated, is the interface between these Biblical insights, on the one hand, and the current situation in Palestine and Israel, on the other. This book offers a Christ-centered approach to relieving the intolerable misery and hatred that plague the Holy Land. An added bonus is the descriptive chapter on organizations that are striving to bring lasting peace with security and equal rights for all the residents of the land.

Rev. Naim Ateek explains Palestinian liberation theology. Jesus was a Palestinian living under the oppression of the Romans. By using the hermeneutic of Jesus Christ, we are able to discern which sayings of the Old Testament represent an exclusive vengeful God and those that represent the loving God. We understand that criticisms of the exclusive God were made by later theological writers of the Old Testament. We can practice a healing, justice-making, and peaceful, inclusive, non-violent path to resolving the Palestine-Israel conflict that is not based in hate of the Other. We can realize a Jerusalem that belongs to God and is open to all, as spoken about in the words of Ezekiel and other prophetic writers in the Old Testament. Our God is the loving God of all humans. We are all human beings; we are all welcomed as the children of God through God’s love, and we are all in need of justice, peace, and reconciliation. We can work together in respect regardless of a difference in religions.

"The beauty of baseball cards," writes Mike Payne in his brief introduction, "is that you don't have to have played the game to collect the men who do play the game." And the beauty of the 300 particular cards that he's collected here is how much these little pieces of cardboard convey about the evolution of the national pastime and the personalities of the players. From the early cards of Walter Johnson, Ty Cobb, and the record-breaking Honus Wagner that sold at auction for $640,000 to the 1999 Mark McGuire series commemorating his 70th home run, every picture tells a story. Dividing his volume into the 10 decades of the century, Payne provides appropriate card and collecting history as he displays significant, though not necessarily the most historical or valuable, cards from each. Every card is accompanied by a ballpark price and short commentary on why that card is particularly interesting. For example, a 1952 Mickey Mantle card pictures a pensive, almost troubled young Mantle, avoiding eye contact, his arms folded protectively over his chest. Payne reminds us that Mick's '51 rookie year was a hard one, and the pressures attending the off-season death of his father and indications he'd be replacing the retired Joe DiMaggio in centerfield were enormous. "So, back in '52, being Mickey Mantle wasn't all it was cracked up to be," Payne tells us. "This '52 Bowman card"--valued at between $1,500 and $2,500--"seems to capture the mood at the time." One of the things I like about this book is that the title, for once, is not overstated. "300 Great Baseball Cards of the 20th Century" does not profess to provide the 300 greatest cards and therefore provides exactly what the subtitle indicates, "A Historical Tribute by the Hobby's Most Relied Upon Source." Okay, so there is some promotion here since the book is compiled by Mike Payne and the staff of "Beckett Baseball Card Monthly."Of course you will find the most famous (and expensive) baseball cards of all time, such as the legendary 1909-11 T206 Honus Wagner ($112,500-$225,000) and the 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle (not his first card, which would be the 1951 Bowman #253), which are the respective Holy Grails for the first and second half of the century. You will find cards for most of the greatest players in the history of the game, from Ty Cobb (1909-11 T206 Green Background) and Babe Ruth (1933 Goudey #43) to Mark McGwire (1985 Topps #401) and Barry Bonds (1987 Fleer #604). Not surprisingly, it is Mantle, in whose honor Topps has retired card number 7 in their sets, who has the most baseball cards with 21. Ruth and Ted Williams have 13 each, Willie Mays a dozen, and Hank Aaron 10. Of course, within those you will find cards with Mantle and Mays, Mantle and Aaron, and Aaron and Mays.While there are cards of famous players you might recognize, such as the 1914 Cracker Jack #103 with Shoeless Joe Jackson that served as the model for a card in "Field of Dreams," there are some that are included because of their oddities, like the 1954 Topps #139 which has the O'Brien twins, Eddie and Johnny, the 1957 Topps #20 Hank Aaron where the reverse negative has the Hammer batting left-handed, and 1976 Topps #564 Kurt Bevacqua "Bubble Gum Blowing Champ" (I swear that gun Topps had would break your teeth but also preserve your cards in the box). You will find rookie cards, combination cards (e.g., 1957 Tops #407 Power Hitters: Mantle & Berra), all star cards, World Series card, commemorative cards (e.g., 1959 Topps #550 Roy Campanella, "Symbol of Courage"), traded cards, update cards (e.g., 1984 Fleer Update #U43 Dwight Gooden), error cards (e.g., 1985 Donruss $424 Tom Seaver), and variation cards (e.g., 1974 Topps #250B Willie McCovey "Washington Nat'l League").A lot of the cards represent baseball history, talking about what happened with particular players in a given year or what was happening with baseball card companies (e.g., 1955 Bowman #179 Hank Aaron talks about how Topps bought Bowman after its ambitious 1955 TV release). There are also entries from the collector's perspective, such as the 1990 Leaf #220 Sammy Sosa that everyone was pulling out of their commons and semi-star boxes when Sosa was chasing Roger Maris and Mark McGwire during the great home run race of 1998 (ironically, the card shows Sosa bunting).The book, of course, is illustrated with photographs of all 300 cards, along with photos of ballparks and players, mostly from the National Baseball Hall of Fame Library. For the die hard collector or the knowledgeable baseball fan this is a great book to leaf through and walk down memory lane. For the record I have 135 of the 300 cards, although by the end I am pretty much back to where I am in the beginning in terms of seeing cards I have never really seen let along tried to own.

Such a great read promoting the notion that as we mature we focus so much time on work and being caught up with our daily responsibilities that we don't spend enough or any time really seeking out the fun in life. The author argues that in doing so we will lead happier and more fulfilled lives. I really enjoyed this.

Who couldn't use a little more fun in their lives? Nanci Bergman brings a kind of children's show host's energy to this book, and it fits well with her adult advice regarding making room for more fun in one's life. "Prioritize Fun" comes from a good place, has an optimistic outlook, and incorporates a conversational tone. It's also a quick read.One of the fun things you can do as you read the book is try to guess, fail at times, and then eventually look up the many unique pop culture references (Along Came Polly?) Bergman uses. "The Man With a Poodle" game also sounds like a winner.Bergman definitely comes across like she not only knows what she's talking about, but also that her understanding comes from experience. She's "prioritizing fun" in her own life.If you don't feel like you're having enough fun, block off a couple of hours, pick up this book, and let Bergman advise you.

Loved the book. As warm weather hits southern California it is the perfect read to encourage all of us to have a little more fun in our lives. The author obviously has an innate ability to make everything she does more fun and her passion is infectious.

Such an enjoyable and enlightening read. Light hearted and funny as hell, but hits home on a lot of serious topics (presented in a far from serious way). Whether you take her advice or not, just reading the book is FUN and if the goal is to prioritize fun then you have already taken the first step. Great insight and some hilariously quotable comments - multiple chuckles per page. Definitely worth the read.

This book couldn't have come across my desk at a more perfect time. Stuck in the monotony of the daily grind, I was finding myself more unpleasant and short tempered.
